Frequently Asked Questions

  • We do not treat lip ties, in our experience around feeding the tongue is necessary to cup and create suction at the breast. If you are concerned about a lip tie impacting feeding, we would recommend a tongue tie assessment in the first instance.

  • We typically see babies up to 12 months. If your baby is older do take a look at our resource bundle for older babies in our shop.

  • Yes, we support bottle feeding babies. A tongue tie or oral restriction can negatively impact their ability to feed optimally.

  • The frenulum has poor nerve supply, as such most babies settle quickly with feeding or a cuddle from their parent. Whilst they do feel some sensation the pain felt in the majority of cases is short lasting.

  • We do not use anesthesia for the tongue tie procedure. We support your baby to feed straight after, which in itself is comforting to them.
